1979 to 1982 Calligraphic Wenzihua with Painting
Huang Yao did not restrict himself to calligraphy only. Being an accomplished Chinese painter he was able to and he often did add the painting of human figure or even scenery to a piece of work that can be considered as completed already (like those in the previous category) to further illustrate the feeling or content of the title. Again each painting has a different style of writing which is appropriately chosen as Huang Yao deemed best. If one examines the paintings closely, one can feel Huang Yao's humor, not just in the tiny human figures but also in the particular shapes of some of the characters.
